The hazy skies that morning produced a variety of intereting atmospheric phenomena, including solar halos, parhelic arcs, and sundogs. I took several photos, but unfortunately the vivid colors visible through sunglasses were not reproduced well on film. Barely visible in this photo (above the margin of the Coleman Glacier) is a 120-degree section of a solar halo, with a bright sundog at its right edge. These phenomena are largely obscured by the bright band of cloud angling toward upper left.
