Our descent was swift, and soon we were in sight of Camp Muir (at center), here looking south from Cathedral Gap across the Cowlitz Glacier. We reached camp by 11:30 AM, rested a bit, and then packed up and prepared to descend the Muir Snowfield back to Paradise. I sprinted down the soft snow, and charged past the tourists on the paved trails below, making it back to the parking lot in just over an hour.
