Soon my friends on the surface were hauling me upwards using a pulley system on the 'accident/rescue rope'. About 20 feet below the surface I yelled for them to stop. Suddenly visible past the downhill end of the crevasse was the gaping crater of Mount Saint Helens. I quickly snapped a photo and yelled up for them to continue hauling me out.
