Soon we cut an angling traverse to skier's left to retrace our ascent route back onto the large plateau. This nearly mile-long (and very flat) plateau interrupts an otherwise quite continuous ski descent. That's me trying to catch up to Alex on the flats. It's not too much trouble to cross on alpine touring or telemark skis, but would require some extra effort on downhill skis or a snowboard. (TIP: use ski poles while snowboarding across the flats, it works well!)
