Map of Thielsen Ski Route
This map shows our ascent and descent routes, with portions done on foot in red and on skis in blue. The long detour in the morning could easily have been avoided by using the map and compass, but we blindly followed the most prominent sets of tracks in the snow till they faded, and then later corrected our course. On the descent, we hiked west from the point where we hit the snowline, soon reaching the road a few hundred feet south of the trailhead.
